I think there has been many time when I have either witnessed
or confronted hypocrisy, however, the time period in which it actually stands
out is back when I was in the Marines; that is mainly because when we were deployed
I saw many of my friends come back to the US to find out that while they were
away, their loved one would cheat on them and make another life behind their
back. There is nothing wrong with that, but their actions reflected hypocrisy
because they were making people believe that everything was fine when it wasn’t…
at least not for the Marine at the front line. Also seeing people in the news
talking about the US military and how they are pro war and all that just made
us sick, because we knew that all they did was talk and had no experience whatsoever
about the military life or the things we had to do and sacrifice to survive.
When you see someone like that you just want to punch them in the face. It is
amazing on the amount of people you can find around you while you are in the
military that would guarantee to help you out whenever and then when you need
them the most they just walk away such as friend, loved ones, family, etc. You
can even find Hypocrisy inside the military as well, and that is because you
can find out quick that you can’t trust all the people that you are supposed to
trust, I can count with one hand the people that I could really trust while I
was in the military and even now, but the rest to me were just hypocrites. That
is why I think that the whole time period when I was in the military is the
time of my life in which I experienced Hypocrisy.

Pain Is Weakness Leaving The Body
The last couple of weeks have been extremely crazy for me, I believe the reason behind so much craziness is linked to my family, work, school, military and many other things trying to come at me all at one time. I say this because on the same week I got promoted at my work and well, my work tripled and here I am trying to learn one million other things that have nothing to do with the things that used to do on a daily basis. Another thing that happened this weekend was that my year old caught a severe cold, then it went to my five month old and finally got to my wife. So that left me trying to help my wife doing all the chores at the house, I am amazed on how hard it really is to do house work all day. AS of the military well, I still got 5 months remaining on my contract and someone called me wanting me to go to some base here is Georgia and do a physical test to make sure that I've been staying physically active, if I don't pass the test then I would have to go and exercise there for about three months minimum. Well, reality is that I've been out of active service from a little under five years and the only exercise I've done throughout all that time is to walk up to the kitchen to get me beer. So now I gotta take care of three sick people, organize my work because I gotta look out for five guys now and finally try my best to get in to shape. But other than that I am doing great and enjoying life, every time I am being overwhelmed I remember my grandfather and the Marines telling me "Pain is weakness leaving the body", which leads me to believe that the more it hurts on me the better, right?

Troy was not racist.
I think it would be hard to classify Troy as a racist man, especially
after taking on consideration the time in which the whole story takes place.
Troy grew up in a time when segregation was big and the difference between races
was shown everywhere, even though he used multiple racial names when referring to
white people, we must take in consideration the fact that back then those names
were common among black people when referring to white people. The time when
Troy grew up was the time in which African American fought the hardest to
obtain equality in America, his personality was driven by all those movements
and racial tensions happening at the time. He expressed the same amount of
dislike towards both black and white races, referring to black people as
niggers and to white people as crackers. More than anything I think that he was
trying to gain equality in society, he was trying to be a good example for his
friends and family by confronting people over him, which at the time was mainly
white people. He also used to tell all kinds of stories to his friends and
family to try to impress them, and out of all the stories he had to tell about
white people and past experiences he had, probably only a small percentage was
true. He was mainly trying to obtain a better paying job, no to discriminate against
white people. To be racist you have to hate against other races, and
discriminate in a bad way in which harm is intended. By no means was troy
trying express that type of behavior towards white people in the story.
